The MAGAS™ Patent Journey | From Malaysia to the World

The Long Patent Journey

An idea is only the beginning.

Turning an idea into a protected invention is a much longer journey.

For MAGAS™, the patent journey was not easy. It required years of testing, redesign, paperwork, financial pressure, patience, and belief.

The idea behind MAGAS™ was different from conventional lure design. It was not just another color, shape, or hook arrangement. It was a new way of thinking about hook position and snag reduction.

That difference made protection important.

After the early concept and prototypes showed promise, Yet Sun Low decided to pursue patent protection. The goal was to protect an original Malaysian lure innovation and give the system a chance to stand on its own.

The process was long and demanding.

Patent work is not only about filling forms. It requires technical explanation, drawings, claims, legal procedures, national requirements, and time. For an independent inventor, every stage carries pressure.

There is also emotional pressure.

When a project takes years, people may not understand it. Some may doubt it. Some may think it is too difficult, too expensive, or too unlikely to succeed.

But invention often requires a stubborn kind of patience.

MAGAS™ continued because the problem was real.

Anglers lose lures around cover.

Beginners can feel nervous handling exposed hooks.

Fishing waters can be affected by unnecessary tackle loss.

Experienced anglers need better tools for difficult structure.

These problems kept the mission alive.

The patent journey also carried a deeper meaning. MAGAS™ was not only about one lure. It was about proving that an original fishing lure system could come from Malaysia and be presented to the world.

That belief became part of the brand.

MAGAS™ represents more than a product name. It represents years of self-learning, field testing, failures, redesigns, and the decision to protect an idea before bringing it forward.

The journey was long.

But without that journey, MAGAS™ would not have the same meaning today.

Every patented system begins with one question.

MAGAS™ began with this one:

Can we reduce snagging, protect the hook position, and still catch fish?

The patent journey was the long road taken to answer that question.
