Our Story

The story of MAGAS™ began in Malaysia.

In 2009, Mr. Yet Sun Low was actively involved in lure fishing with friends. During a fishing trip to Kenyir Lake, Terengganu, the group encountered a common frustration among lure anglers: repeated snagging around underwater structures.

A friend jokingly said, “If you are afraid of snagging, why not go back and invent a lure that can avoid snagging but still catch fish?”

That simple joke became the starting point of a long invention journey.

Later, inspired by the idea of hidden weapons on stealth aircraft, Mr. Low imagined a fishing lure where the hook could be held closer to the lure body when needed, reducing the chance of getting caught on rocks, branches, grass and other underwater obstacles.

After years of trial, failure, material testing and field testing, the Magnetic Anti-Snag System, known as MAGAS™, was developed.

MAGAS™ subsequently received granted patent protection in multiple countries, including the United States, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.

MAGAS™ represents an original Malaysian fishing lure innovation built around anti-snag performance, safer hook design, reduced lure loss and greater environmental awareness.
